Sept  19-23  B WEEK

This week

Monday meeting 3:50-4:30 Grade 7 room. All Staff

Tues 4:00 Primary homeroom teacher Patrick’s office

Wed 4:00 Secondary Grade leaders Patrick’s office

Welcome to our first full week of school! Thank you for all you efforts so far!

In this week’s post you will find:

·         Time table

·         Monday Meeting Rotations

·         Annual Plan

·         Uniform

·         Job description from HR

But first some thoughts on the Mission statement above. We looked at the mission statement the first week, and I discussed how it is the reason why we are all here; chemistry teachers, kindergarten teachers, and cleaners. We are all here for the same reason: to Promote the Well Being of the Students.

Of course, a History teacher does it by teaching history. The reason for teaching history is the same reason the cook makes lunch--- to Promote the Wellbeing of Students. All of the students are all of our responsibility at all times in the building. It is our professional role to do something or say something if we see something.

For this reason there will be a supervision schedule for Breakfasts and Lunches.

Time Table

We have an updated timetable for this week. It includes room numbers for secondary subject classes.

·         We do not have math the last two periods (Except for one unavoidable exception)

·         Most of grade 11 subject classes are double blocked

·         We have 6 math, plus 2 or 3 local math for the secondary school classes as opposed to last year’s 5 classes

·         Leader in Me is replacing Classroom Time from last year

·         There is guided HW time

·         Grade 6-7 does ‘Science’ not physics, chem, and Bio

·         We have Turkic history for grade 8

Also some classes are in the Library or the new music room. The new music room is across from the library.

We probably will have a time table next weekend that will have the final few improvements.

NEW!!! The schedule this year has an alternating A week and B week component for some courses. This week is a B week.

9e has A-B week rotation with A week music and B week Homework

9E has A B rotation with Zefer history and HW time

8e has A-B week rotation with A week HW next to B week Turkic history

Keep any eye out for the A week and B week on the time table.

Annual Curriculum plan for Semester 1

Thank you all for those who have completed this or are in the final stages. Please be sure to:

·         Have it in the folder under your name on the shared drive

·         Print a copy, get it into the box in my office

·         Use it to inform your teaching, reflect on improvements, collaborate with others.

The time put into this is an investment in the future. This is an initiative that will improve teaching and learning, make it easier to work with others, and make it easier to plan in the future and make tomorrow belong to us today.

Uniform

Please be sure to check on students uniforms. This is a focus of the week for the administration and it was the topic of the XXI Century Community Blog for the parents.

Be sure students are not wearing hats, Check they are in uniform. As it says at the top of this post, if you see something, say something, do something, tell someone- The grade level leader or me.

Also there is already a lot of gum chewing. Bring the Gum chewing to an end.

Lastly, please be in the classrooms before the bell rings and be sure the classroom is clean and organized before you leave. Set an example for the students.

In short, be vigilant with the students.

Job Description

And last but not least, I have the job description document from HR. When the copy machine downstairs cools off and we are resupplied with paper (Qulu is out of A4) I will copy them and distribute them.

Have a great week!!!
