Lesson Structure and Classroom visits

There will be ongoing visits to the classes by different members of the school leadership team. We are trying to inventory teaching strategies and styles to prepare PD and goals for next year.

Questions for Teachers

"Are you sure all students have a job to do all the time, no one is left just watching?"

What routines are you teaching the students about making the transitions in the lesson?

What Routines are you teaching the students about how you get their attention?

What routines are you teaching them about how they can contribute to the class?

During the developmental part (The classic teaching) What have you told the students they should do? Take notes? How to take notes?

Are you sure all students have a job to do all the time, no one is left just watching? If students are just left watching with no instructions on what to do then teachers are giving students a choice of what they can do. If a teacher does that, the teacher must take responsibility for student’s bad choices.

Some unexpected staff changes happened, Unfortunatly causing the schedule to be updated again. Please see the schedule dated April 17. Those impacted are:
  • Grade 6 PE and Study time on Friday. PE is Boy and Girl Combined Period 10
  • 5e PE and Social Studies on Thursday. PE and Playtime on Monday and TUes
Please note the changes the last two weeks and this week are not actions of choice, they are actions of necessity. Only changes that HAVE to be made are being made.

Mock Exams grade 10-11

Please consider your timetabled classes for Mock Exams between 14 - 22 April, 2022.

You may use any available past papers (preferably the latest ones) for Mocks. Please make sure you provide each student with the feedback on this trial.

Based on the overal progress during the course (Micro and Macro summative assessment results, student portfolio, individual classes, Mock Exam, etc.), please provide a forecast grade for each student taking your course by 27 April, 2022. The forecast grade will be uploaded into the Cambridge system.

Please see below to find more about forecast grade:

What is a Forecast Grade?

A forecast grade is the grade a teacher expects a student to achieve for the syllabus. It must be a realistic prediction of what the student is expected to achieve in the examination. It is not intended to be the teacher's assessment of the quality of the student's work during the course, or of the effort that the student has made. In the case of an assessment that the student has already partly completed (e.g. a Cambridge International A Level subject in which the student has already achieved a contributory Cambridge International AS Level result), the forecast grade should relate to the overall qualification including the part already assessed.

Why should I submit Forecast Grades?

We use forecast grade information:

  • for the purpose of grading, as a check by comparing actual grades with Forecast Grades
  • in instances where a student's script may have been lost in the post
  • in cases of special consideration.

Schools are advised that it could disadvantage students if forecast grade information is not supplied when the information is available.

Please use the link provided below to upload your forecast grades:
