But First, many of us had a great time at the Leader in Me PD over the weekend. Congratulations to everyone who took part. We will talk more about what is coming with leader in me during the scheduled Leader in Me class and in all subject areas.


This week

Monday meeting 3:50-4:30Grade Level Meetings. See the Meeting rotation below

  •  Primary with Ms. Aynur, 
  •  Secondary in the grade 7 room, Topics DO Now, Classroom Management, Leader In Me

  • Tues Grade 11 and 12 College meeting 
  • Tues-Thurs parent meetings by grade


We have meetings with parents coming up this week and next to discuss Cambridge Exam plans and expectations.

·         Tues Sept 27 4:00  Grade 9 in the Grade 9 classroom. Grade 9 does IGCSE this year

·         Weds Sept 28 4:00  Grade 10 in the grade 10 room. Grade 10 switches to AS in January

·         Thurs Sept 29 4:00  Grade 8e 1 and 8e2 in the Grade 11 room. Grade 8 will do IGSCE next year

·         Tues Oct 4 4:00  Grade 7 in the grade 7 room. Grade 7 and 6 will start IGCSE in grade 8 for 2 years

·         Weds Oct 5 4:00 Grade 6 in the grade 6 room. Grade 7 and 6 will start IGCSE in grade 8 for 2 years

Primary Meeting Thursday, Oct 6.

I would like to bring to your attention that on September 27 at 12:00, an information session will be held with a representative of UBC university ( https://www.ubc.ca/ ) in the assembly hall of the Center.

Additional Information:

meeting language - English

participants - 10th and 11th grade students (all three sections)

session duration - 40 - 50 minutes

During the meeting, upper-class students can familiarize themselves with the terms of admission to the university and ask questions of interest.

The current timetable has the adjustments we made last week, plus more explicit identification of A week and B week, and Room numbers for the High School classes.A

Monday Meeting Rotations. What are the meetings for? 

1.    Whole Staff. Focus on instructional development

2.    Grade level; Primary, Middle, High school. Focus on students in need, programs

3.    Subject group. Primary Homeroom, Math, Science, Social Science, Humanities. Focus on curriculum development, instruction, assessment

4.    Curriculum time. To be used individually or in groups based on needs

Thank you all for those who have completed this or are in the final stages. Please be sure to:

·         Have it in the folder under your name on the shared drive

·         Print a copy, get it into the box in my office

·         Use it to inform your teaching, reflect on improvements, and collaborate with others.

The time put into this is an investment in the future. This initiative will improve teaching and learning, make it easier to work with others and make it easier to plan for the future and make tomorrow belong to us today.
